(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Lakewood Loves Animals club welcomed more new members than previous years at its first meeting after school on Sept. 25 in room 579.

The meeting showed new and returning members the club’s focus for the duration of the school year. The club gets students involved by allowing them to volunteer at different animal shelters every few months. The shelter for September and October will be Donte’s Den.

New members are seeing what they can do to contribute to the club.

“I’m excited to start animal club because it’s a great way to help animals in the community,” said incoming member sophomore Ashley Phaneuf.

Returning member sophomore Nicolette Ngov said, “I’m excited because I want to help out my local animal shelters by volunteering and making toys for the animals.”

The club is ready to start contributing to the community.
