(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As many people know, the 2017 National Football League (NFL) season starts Thursday night. Preseason is over and the New England Patriots play the Kansas City Chiefs in New England at 8:00 p.m.

Many Mustangs are excited for the start of America’s most popular sport.

Senior Noah Brindley said, “I’m so excited for the game tonight, I miss football a lot and I’m glad it’s that time or year.

Senior Keith Whitehead commented, “I’m looking forward to the Cowboys and Giants game this Sunday, I really like the Giants and the Cowboys are big rivals so this game is very big.”

Junior Jeremy Mcguire added, ‘I don’t really have a favorite team but I’m a big fan of the sport and the competition and atmosphere it brings on Sundays.”

The season runs through February’s Super Bowl, but week one is clearly drawing a lot of excitement with some big games. Sunday’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers game against the Miami Dolphins, however, has been cancelled due to Hurricane Irma and will be made up in week 11.
