(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – For parents looking to become more involved in their child’s school year, LRHS will host the rescheduled Back to School Night at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The original night was Tuesday, Aug. 29, which was cancelled due to building problems.

Back to School Night allows parents to meet their child’s teachers first hand. Parents are recommended to familiarize themselves with their child’s schedule so their journey around the campus runs smoothly. Parents will start out the night in their child’s first period and will follow a mini-schedule through the course of the evening.

Each class will have a seven-minute meeting time. There will be five minutes between classes in order to travel from classroom to classroom.

LRHS Back-to-School Night coordinator and Spanish teacher Valerie Finnegan wishes to remind parents that, “this is not a night for conferences, but that they may schedule them with teachers for another time.”

Sophomore Carter Savitts said, “My parents always attend back to school night. It’s a great way for them to get familiar with my teachers.”

Attendance to the back to school night is not mandatory, but officials recommend participation.

(“Mustangs Ahead” originally and incorrectly reported Back-to-School Night was rescheduled for Sept. 12.  We apologize for any inconvenience.)
