Program seeks a few good tutors

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)-  The LRHS Peer Tutoring program is looking for student tutors.

Students interested in becoming a tutor need to fill out the application available in room 517. The first mandatory meeting for any interested tutors is at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7 in room 517.

Peer tutoring is on Thursdays from 7-7:30 a.m. in room 308 located in the back of the cafeteria.

Last year, the program offered 35 days of tutoring.  Thirty-eight peer Tutors and 86 students signed in for tutoring, and volunteers earned 100 hours of community service.

LRHS fine arts teacher and program adviser Rebekah Lester said, “Last year was very successful, and it allows our students to grow, both the tutors and the students learning.”
