(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Swim Team competed in their first swim meet of the season on Saturday, Aug. 26 at the Selby Aquatic Center.

Mustang Swimmers gathered on Saturday to test their abilities as they competed against other schools. This annual pre-season meet centered around new swimmers getting used to the experience of competing at a swim meet, however it was open to all swimmers.

Swimmers who participated developed skills in some events that can only be practiced in a competitive environment, including relays. Towards the end of the meet four Mustang swimmers, senior Camden Beverly; freshman Elaina Karrow; freshman Ella Botko and sophomore Sydney Holzborn won their 400-meter freestyle relay.

“Winning the relay was a very cool experience, I could hear everyone cheering me on as I swam,” said Holzborn.

The LRHS Swim Team had many successes at the first meet and hopes to keep up the good work at their upcoming meets this season.
