Lauren Wood – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- As the school year kicks off, so does the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the American College Testing Program (ACT), two tests that are required for college entrance.

This Saturday, Aug. 26, will be the first SAT test date for the 2017-2018 school year. Registration for the next SAT on Oct. 7 needs to be completed by Friday, Sept. 8. This process takes approximately 30-45 minutes to complete, and is available here for those wanting to sign up.

Other test dates, including Nov. 4 and Dec. 2 are available to students nationwide. The College Board of Education helps students with preparing by offering study groups and sessions, along with books and online tutors.

The next available ACT is on Saturday, Sept. 9. Students that want to take this test will be charged an extra $29 for a late fee, as registration was due by Aug. 4.

Other ACT test dates include Oct. 28 and Dec. 9. Registration for these dates needs to be completed by Sept. 22 and Nov. 3. Sign up here to take the ACT on either of these dates.

Study books are available in the LRHS media center for those seeking additional study time and help.
