JROTC shapes up

McKenzie Mazzella – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The Lakewood Ranch High School Mustang Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) Battalion completed their first Physical Training (PT) day of the 2017-2018 school year.

Their workout started by running a mile, 300-meter obstacle course, rope bridge, and 500-pound tire flip and a half-mile liter carry.

The workout was designed to give all cadets a preview of a raider meet. The mile represents the five kilometer run, the 300- meter obstacle course represents a half mile obstacle course, and the half-mile liter carry represents a mile liter carry.

This PT session was planned, so any cadet interested in becoming raider has the opportunity to try a mock raider meet without committing to being on the team.

The Mustang Battalion works out every Thursday and Friday, and usually focus on working out one part of the body; arms, abs, or legs.
