(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Technology Students Association (TSA) is a national organization of students engaged in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

LRHS students can join TSA to show off skills in a variety of competitions. There are different types of programs in TSA. Some of the different types are Leadership Education Achievement Personal growth (LEAP), junior solar sprint, and UNITE.

There are around 30-50 members in the LRHS TSA.

TSA adviser and LRHS technology teacher Ben Long looks forward to competition, four or five field trips a year, and having a fun time interacting with each other. The members also get to know more about each other during competition.

The first meeting was Monday, Aug. 21 after school until 3 p.m.

Senior TSA president Ty Wilcox is in charge of the chapter, and makes sure everything is done right.

Wilcox stated TSA’s first 2017-18 meeting had a great turnout. 40 Mustangs attended and went through the basics on what TSA does.
