Freshmen settling in at LRHS

Sydney Davis – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – There are roughly 2,300 students at LRHS. According to the registration office, 595 of them are ninth graders. Imagine going from 100-200 students, to almost 600 students in just your grade. That sounds very intimidating.

Now that the school year has started, a few freshmen shared their thoughts about the new school year.

Freshman Conner Ford stated, “My first day felt like it took forever. I’m really looking forward to the high school football games. The block schedule is different, but I think I’ll get used to it. The line to get our ID’s was my biggest surprise.”

Zach Miller said, “First day went well, better than I thought. I’m from a small town in New York, so I am really excited to see what the school has to offer. I was surprised when I got here and saw how big the campus is.”

Lauran Waiters commented, “My first day was long. Lunch lines were so long…the first day. I’m looking forward to riding the bus and meeting new friends.”
