Color guard will help kick off football season

Victoria Price – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Color Guard team started its year by having five practices during the summer to improve skills and help prepare the new freshmen for the upcoming marching band season.

They also practice from 6-9 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday, learning routines and places on the field.

Senior Christina Rosabal is the captain and junior Lily Sutton is the section leader. There are currently 25 members in the color guard, but it is not too late to join. Anyone with questions about joining color guard can talk to LRHS band director Ron Lambert in room 224.

The color guard will attend the football game this Friday, Aug. 18, and they will be doing dances with pompons while the band plays from the stands.
