Ranch Reflection – Missing the seniors

Ranch Reflections are articles written by students who want to share their experiences, thoughts, and concerns. This is a great opportunity for students to branch out beyond traditional news stories.

Lindsay Coleman – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The 2016-17 school year officially comes to an end for the seniors on Saturday, May 20. They will graduating at the Bradenton Area Convention Center at 8am.

For underclassmen, however, the school year will continue until May 31.

As the seniors celebrate, starting their summer vacation early, LRHS can be depressing for their underclassmen friends.

The campus is lonely, classrooms are smaller, and the parking lot is empty.

Being friends with seniors can be tough, you get used to seeing them every day and when the end of the year comes around, they’re not around as much.

Every Mustang goes through the loss of their senior friends at the end of the year, but it’s also very exciting to send your friends off into the next chapter of their lives.

Although the last two and a half weeks are a drag for the underclassmen, they are occupied by staying focused for their final exams so they can join their graduates in Summer 2017.
