LRHS FFA wins state recognition

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch FFA Chapter continues to win state recognition. The Chapter was just selected as a premier FFA Chapter.

The Premier Chapter Award is for chapters with superior achievements by chapters in Agricultural Education along with being an active FFA members.

According to the Florida FFA Association to be eligible for this award, “a Chapter must be proficient in several areas which include Alumni and Community Partnership, Financial Planning, and Public Relations, along with FFA Recruitment.”

LRHS FFA adviser Janyel Taylor said, “Our FFA Chapter has over 51% membership in our agriculture program. Other criteria to be selected involved an active alumni, community partnerships, financial planning, and public relations, on top of our FFA activities.

“We are the only high school in Manatee County to receive this honor,” Taylor said.  “At State convention we will be recognized for both our Premier Chapter and Florida’s Finest FFA awards.”
