(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Last Friday LRHS drama and make-up & design clubs hosted their 16th annual Play Writing Marathon and Costume Design/stage Make-up Showcase. The event ran from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. in the LRHS auditorium.
“It’s really special event because it’s basically totally all about the students. They create, they direct, and they do all the technical aspects of the shows all on their own,” LRHS drama teacher and theatre director Roxane Caravan said.
The event was made up of 23 plays and nine designs. Theatre classes 1- 3 performed a play called “I Never Thought I Could” and theatre classes 3 and 4 performed the play “Orbiting Human Circus.” Sophomores Jada Buckley and Alexandria Rogalskia showed off their make-up and design skills by recreating the Pirates of the Caribbean/Calypso look.
Caravan also added, “It’s just special because they have the opportunity to show off their creations and theirs designs.”
