(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Parent Association is having a parent mixer for parents who have children scheduled to attend LRHS next year.  The mixer is for both new and current students.

The mixer is scheduled for 7-8:15 p.m., May 9 in the LRHS Cafeteria.

Parent Association president Kathi Davis said, “This is our second mixer, we had one last year.  It’s a chance to introduce incoming parents and eighth grade parents to the Parent Association and help them adjust to LRHS.”

While at the meet and greet parents and students will meet the Administrative staff and see where they will be eating lunch.  Davis said the event is also a chance for parents to meet other parents and students and also find out what the Parent Association does and how they help students and staff.

Davis said their last mixer was as success.

“Last year was very good.  We recruited a few new board members.  Some people got very involved,” she said.  “The biggest adjustment many of our parents need to make is just getting used to everything going on.  There’s so much and sometimes it’s hard to know where to get the information.  The Parent Association is another central point where we can help.”
