Rivera, one of the state’s most successful runners, said he was thrilled by the opportunity to continue his athletic career.

“Being injured last year really pushed me,” he said.  “Falling from number one in the country made me what I am now.”

He’s looking forward to his career at Ole Miss.

“It feels great,” he said.  “I’m thrilled about the new opportunity and surroundings.”
