TV production bids seniors adieu

Taylor Jefferson – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH,FL) – This week is the last full week for all seniors TV production students and Friday’s “Lakewood Live” will be their last show.

This year’s graduating senior class is the largest that TV production teacher Bryan Stedman can remember.

Stedman had 53 seniors and 33 of these had a place on Lakewood Ranch’s news crew; 14 of the 53 seniors Stedman has had all four years of high school.

Stedman says he will miss all of his seniors dearly.

“Yeah of course they’ll be missed,” he said. “Of course some students are more involved than others but once you have had these students for four years of course you’re going to miss them.

“These kids are really a sense of family, we have all been through a lot together throughout the years. Especially when Brendan Shreve passed away , we were all there for each other. They all have grown up with me and I have grown up with them, when I started teaching these kids I was 40 and now I’m 45. That’s crazy.”

There will be new anchors added to the news crew next year.

“There will be a few hiccups throughout the next school year but when you lose so many students how could you not,” Stedman added.

This Friday there will  be a “Senior sendoff” when Stedman will say a few words about the seniors and there will be a video featuring the individual seniors.
