Taylor Butler – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Every year the LRHS FFA hosts a dinner for all FFA members, but this dinner isn’t just a chance to eat.
FFA members will be recognized Wednesday night for their dedication and achievements throughout the year.
LRHS FFA adviser Janyel Taylor explained that over 20 specialty awards will be presented along with many participation awards.
“The FFA Banquet is a great way to bring the members and community together for a night,” said Taylor.
LRHS junior and dedicated FFA member, Katelyn Carothers will be recognized at the banquet for her state degree. The state degree is one of the highest degrees you can receive aside from the American degree.
FFA members have the option of competing in Career Development Events (CDEs), such as livestock and plant judging competitions, and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAEs), which include their county and state fair projects. They can also compete in public speaking events to demonstrate knowledge of multiple topics in agriculture. Members receive a pin at the banquet to show their accomplishments.
