LRHS JROTC heads for orienteering states

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is competing in the Brooksville Orienteering State Championship on the Saturday. The meet will start at 10 a.m. and will go until all the runners are back. This is a new location and none of the teams have competed here before.

Twenty-one schools will compete and Lakewood Ranch is sending 23 cadets to compete.

LRHS JROTC instructor Lt. Col. Richard Roller said, “Everyone has been working hard and they have already competed against 80% of the people that are going to be there Saturday. I expect us to be very competitive and put on a good show.”

LRHS senior Barry Porter said, “I am glad that we made it to states my senior and I am excited to compete and challenge myself to do the best that I can. I know our team is ready and we are going to go out and do our best and just have a good day no matter what the results are.”
