(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Now that the stress of National competition has finally concluded, the LRHS Silver Stars dance team is putting all of their focus onto their next event, their second annual showcase, scheduled for 7 p.m., March 31 in the school auditorium.
This event features 15 dances that the girls themselves have choreographed, ranging from solos to large groups, along with their two national competition routines choreographed by coach Kourtney Kalahar and guest Kailyn Dalton. Two slideshows displaying pictures from throughout the season, speeches from teammates and their coach, and end of season awards will be included.
Featured styles will be jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, pom, and tap. The team is using the showcase as a way to expose what each dancer can do beyond what most people see at football games and community events. This is an opportunity for the dancers to express their creativity in choreography and to explore different dance styles.
Silver Stars dancers will sell tickets for $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Auditions for the next season are also scheduled for 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. April 3-4 and 6 in the dance room. There is a mandatory pre-audition meeting 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., March 30 from where coach Kalahar will give try-out forms to those interested in auditioning and review what it takes to be on the team.
