Bands headed to Orlando to perform and play

Markella Paradissis-Wagner – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Band Program is headed to Universal Studios and Disney March 16-18, and had many scheduled performances.

“I think it will be interesting. I’m excited,” said freshman mellophone and french horn player Loukas Wagner.

The Marching Mustangs will participate in the “Disney Festival of Fantasy” Parade at the Magic Kingdom, and both LRHS Jazz Bands will perform at Universal Studio’s City Walk Stage. Additionally, the wind ensemble will play at Disney Springs at the Disney’s Performer’s Music Stage. All three LRHS Concert Bands will also take part in a recording workshop. They will play “Frankenstein’s Theme” in a professional setting and learn more about musical career opportunites and the art of animation.

“It’s important for the students to share what it is we do every day in the band room. There is a reason music education is important and getting out and traveling is the best way to do that,” said band director Ron Lambert.

The musicians will also enjoy a day at the parks and activities such as watching the Blue Man Group perform.
