Lady Mustangs clinch regular season district title

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lady Mustang’s softball team won against the Lady Sarasota Sailors Thursday night, 7-1 which earns them first seed in the district tournament.

Today is game day for the Lady Mustangs at the Ranch against Bishop Verot, ranked #2 in the state in 4A.

Junior Madi LoCastro hit a home run in the third inning and Freshman Avery Goelz it a home run in the second inning of last night’s game.

Locastro said, “It was a really good team win, we all worked together and got the W.”

Junior Morgan Cummins is looking forward to tonight’s game.

“This game will be one of our best games, competition wise. I believe it will be a really good game. This also should be a challenge but I am looking forward to the competition.”

Softball coach Maggie Sharrer said, “I am really proud of the girls for their hard work over the last seven games and for clinching the number one seed in districts. We are excited to continue the rest of our season with a lot of hard work and execution to help us work toward our goal of states.”

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Tonight the LRHS boys baseball team will be going on the road to take on the Sarasota Sailors at 7 p.m.

LRHS baseball player Eric Gutowski said, “Obviously we want to win so that we gain confidence.”

The Mustangs enter tonight’s game with a 2-2 record hoping to improve on that.
