(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS basketball star and University of South Carolina commit LaDazia Williams added two more awards to her collection, concluding her senior year of high school basketball.

The Lady Mustangs’ 6’2 center was recognized as MVP and class 8A Player of the Year. Her hard work and consistent drive got her recognized.

“I was just happy I got noticed,” stated Williams.

Williams will soon begin the next chapter of her basketball career at The University of South Carolina.

Williams was able to take the Mustangs to the state final last year, and this year their season ended by losing to Gulf Coast in Naples in overtime in the regional semifinals.

Even though the girls lost, coach Tina Hadley thought the girls played very well this season.

“We could have done so much better in that final game,” she said.

Hadley says she’s excited for next year, “the goals for next season is going to states and making a well-structured team with the new girls that will be joining varsity.”
