JROTC hunts orienteering victory

Morgan Lingle – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) is competing at this weekend’s University of South Florida Orienteering meet. The meet will start at 10 a.m. Saturday.

LRHS JROTC teacher Lt. Col. Richard Roller said, “I think we are going to be competitive but its going to be different because this course is different then what we are used to. Normally we are in a wooded area and this course is in the suburbs and due to that it might be more of a foot race. We have some people moving up courses and this is going to be a good test for them.”

A total of ten schools are scheduled to complete at the meet.

Senior Barry Porter said, “I am very excited to see how I do with this different course and hoping that the team does well.”
