Lakewood Loves Animals has socks appeal

Peyton McLaughlin – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Loves Animals (LLA) club is having a sock drive Feb. 2-10 to make toys for cats and dogs in need.

Any types of socks are needed; they don’t need to be in pairs, loose socks will be accepted too.

Mathematics teacher and LLA adviser Catherine Franek will have a bucket in room 579 to put the socks into. She urges all Mustangs to donate and help show support by donating any unwanted socks for the pets in need.

Franek said her goal is to collect “at least 100 socks. it would be nice to have a couple hundred because the basic design for a toy uses two socks.”

The shelters that will be receiving the toys include; Nates Place, Dante’s Den and many more.

Any questions or concerns should be directed to Franek in room 579.
