Girls win soccer district crown

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lady Mustangs soccer team defeated the Riverview Rams 2-1 in overtime on Friday night to win the District Championship.

Junior Faith Schyck scored the game winning goal near the end of overtime to secure the close victory.

“It feels really great. It was a well deserved win,” junior Ally Boudreau stated.

Boudreau also believes the team can continue to succeed.

“Our goal is to make it to states this year, to the final four,” she said.

The next step in completing their goal will be when they take on Plant High School in the Regional Quarterfinals.

The game will take place at 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 26th at the LRHS soccer field.
