FFA knows holidays can mean hunger

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS FFA is collecting food items for Feeding Empty Little Tummies (FELT).

Many kids go home every weekend, not being able to eat until they go back to school where a meal is provided.

LRHS senior and FFA officer Emily Chamness said members felt this was a worthwhile holiday project.

“This year we decided to do F.E.L.T. instead of an angel tree with gifts,” she said.  “The program sends backpacks filled with food home after school for the weekend.”

FFA advisor and agriculture teacher Susan Grainger has a Christmas tree with items still needed to be donated. Anyone interested in donating an item can contact Granger in room 507.
