(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- On Dec. 3 the Marching Mustangs will participate in the Myakka City Annual Christmas Parade, wearing Santa hats as they march.

LRHS band director Ron Lambert said the Myakka Christmas Parade remains one of the LRHS band’s most important community-outreach events.

“Even though we are Lakewood Ranch High School, a large portion of our student body is from the Myakka area and it’s important that they think of us as ambassadors,” he said. “It’s good for them to perform I front of their home folk.”

Sophomore tuba player Matthew Bartoszek lives in Myakka and will be marching in the parade on Saturday. He said, “It feels cool to march through where I grew up and it is cool to see all of my old teachers from elementary school.”
