(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Silver Stars dance team and the LRHS cheerleaders have been weightlifting with the help of LRHS School Resource Officer Deputy Paul Harris.

Harris has been training and weightlifting for over 20 years.

“The reason I wanted to start being a trainer for weightlifting is because I have been doing it ever since I was in high school,” he said.

Harris has been working three days a week with the Silver Stars and the cheerleaders.

“I really enjoy working with them because it’s a lot of fun and they are a very athletic group that has a positive attitude,” he said.

First year Silver Star Emma Bramley, freshman, said, “I decided to do weightlifting because it will help me become a stronger dancer and I enjoy having Deputy Harris as a trainer because he really helps me understand the technique of weightlifting.”

Freshman and first year Silver Star Brooke Martin said, “I really wanted to try weightlifting because it will help me become stronger, stay more active, and it will help me bond more with my teammates.”
