LRHS swimmers wait in a chilly morning to compete

With the weather dropping to 56 degrees with 10 mph winds, the swimmers were all bundled up. The three LRHS boys and girls relay teams qualified as well.  Freshman Katelynn Coons won the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 25.33 seconds and sophomore Jacob Meyer took first in the 100-yard Butterfly.

Meyer said, “I was very nervous for my 100-yard Butterfly especially because it is so cold it makes breathing more difficult because the air is so dry.”

The Mustang swimmers will now go back to the drawing board to tighten up strokes and prepare for regionals in Orlando on Oct. 29.
