(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- Six LRHS Future Farmers of America (FFA) members are back from a four-day long national convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. LRHS juniors Isabelle Chamness, Alyssa McKinney, Noe Garcia, Cara Zevney, Jessica Bierds, and senior Kassi Sands all attended the convention for the first time.

“Throughout the convention we visited an apple orchard, an alpaca farm, a Christmas tree farm, and diverse leadership workshops,” said club vice-president Bierds.

Bierds said, “The best thing about going to the National FFA convention in Indianapolis was experiencing 60,000 people from all over the nation sharing the same passion as I do. I met people from Arizona, Alaska, and Maine. I also enjoyed spending time with people from my chapter and building a better relationship with them.”

Bierds also elaborated on how she developed new traits on how to recruit new FFA members, “I brought back new ways to get FFA members involved and how to get new members. Come join FFA to find out those ways.”

Anyone interested in joining FFA can stop by room 914 and pick up an application.
