Lauren Wood– Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Halloween is right around the corner, and Mustangs are ready to carve pumpkins, eat candy, dress up…and decorate a Christmas tree?
Although it is the season to scare, stores across the nation have already begun to put Christmas decorations out.
“They shouldn’t be mixing the holidays. I don’t want to be looking down the Christmas aisle so I can get stuff for Halloween. Stores should keep it separate,” said junior Alex Brown.
Sophomore Clare Coffman wants to enjoy the holidays as they come.
“I’m so ready for Halloween,” Coffman said, “but I’m angry that they keep shoving Christmas decorations in my face. It’s not winter yet, so I really wish stores would wait before putting Christmas stuff out.”
Halloween is celebrated throughout the Ranch in a variety of ways, mostly by partying or trick-or-treating.
“I’m either going to get candy with my friends or scare little kids for Halloween,” said sophomore Dalton Wright. “I’m really excited it’s my favorite holiday.”
Junior Naila Junie said, “I usually just eat candy and watch cheesy horror movies with my friends. I don’t do much honestly but it’s still a lot of fun.”
Some students don’t mind the mix-up of the holidays and are just excited to celebrate both.
“You know, I don’t care what stores do,” said sophomore Briana Shaw. “I honestly love Halloween and Christmas, so it just makes me even more ready to celebrate.”
