Isabella Ortiz – Mustangs Ahead
(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Saturday the Lady Mustang swimmers took third place at the Tri county meet, competing against 19 other teams a the Potter Park YMCA.
This was the largest meet of the season and featured top swimmers from Manatee, Sarasota and Charlotte Counties.
Tri-County Mustang champions include senior Courtney Chapin winning the 100-yard backstroke and Freshman Emily Loefgren winning the 100-yard breaststroke.
Every swimmer had at least one event to compete in and everyone on the team made time cuts.
Highlights from this meet included an eleven second time drop for freshman Kaylee Profitt and a six second time drop from sophomore Joshua Moore in their events.
The boys took seventh place overall in the meet but were the top-ranked school in Manatee County.
The Mustang swimmers will now go back to the drawing board for two weeks as they train for the District meet on Oct. 22.
