(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets will participate in cleaning up Coquina beach on Nov 5.

Clean up will begin at 7 a.m. and go until 12 p.m., but cadets are not required to stay the whole time.

LRHS JROTC teacher, Lt. Col. Richard Roller said, “The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens and by doing this environmental clean up. It gives the cadets an opportunity to get hands on experience and hopefully there will be teambuilding and comradery between cadets while making a difference in the community. ”

Meanwhile, The JROTC Winter Formal tickets are now on sale for $25 before and after school in room 403. The tickets will be on sale until Nov 25. The Formal is scheduled for Dec. 2 and is mandatory for all cadets in the program. There are enough tickets for all cadets in the program and their dates.

Junior McKenzie Mazzela said, ” I am excited for the Formal. This is my first JROTC dance and I have heard that they are lots of fun.”
