Sabo takes arts education to higher level

Grace Sever – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Advanced Placement (AP) classes are the norm at Lakewood, but many Mustangs take it a step further and sign up for AP electives such as AP art.

The students in this class don’t run from the challenge of an extra AP course and their creativity and talent comes across in their art works.

An example of Sabo’s artwork

Lakewood Ranch senior Oliva Sabo is one of the AP art students who call room 509 home every second period.

“I really love art and panting,” said Sabo as she worked diligently on her next watercolor piece, “and the AP art program here is helping me to deepen my love of art and develop my skills.”

Sabo has been honing her artist talents for over three years, two of which were at Lakewood.

“My favorite medium would definitely have to be watercolor. I also like to go over my watercolor pieces with ink to define it more.”

While Sabo doesn’t know to what degree she’ll continue her art, but she hopes to at least keep it as a hobby.
