(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets will participate in a beach clean-up on Oct. 8.

The cadets will be cleaning up the Manatee River, Myakka River and Coquina beaches.

Clean up will begin at 7 a.m. and go until 12 p.m., but cadets are not required to stay the whole time.

LRHS JROTC teacher Lt. Col. Richard Roller said, “The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens and by doing this environmental clean-up it gives the cadets an opportunity to get hands on experience and hopefully there will be teambuilding and comradery between cadets while making a difference in the community.”
