Mike Rogers – Mustangs Ahead

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – With the long and grueling 2016 election at the height of its intensity, Advanced Placement (AP) Macroeconomics and U.S. Government and Politics teacher Ben Hall is heading Lakewood Ranch’s online mock election.

The mock election is called “Kids Voting Florida” and was created by University of Central Florida’s political scientists to see how each high school in the state of Florida votes.

Students will get the opportunity to participate in and vote for the candidate they support during their history class.

Voting will occur online during the school week of Oct. 10 through Oct. 15.

The ballot is featuring Republican nominee Donald Trump, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Dr. Jill Stein.

Every student will be given the chance to vote and results will be announced the following Monday, Oct. 17 and will be compared to other schools in the district and the state.
