FFA looking for 5k runners

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Ready, set, go! The LRHS FFA held their first official practice for the Healthy Lifestyles 5k run, scheduled to be run on Oct. 1, 2016.

Even though the name of the run is the Healthy Lifestyles 5k, the theme of the run is to step out against domestic violence.

LRHS freshmen and FFA member Kelly Walker said, “I am excited to run in the race and I am happy it is for a good cause, I cannot wait.”

Anyone interested in joining in the run can attend an FFA practice, 2:15 p.m. – 3 p.m. every Wednesday through the end of September in the bus loop, near the Agriculture barn behind the cafeteria.

On the day of the race, runners must wear sneakers and school appropriate running clothes that they are not afraid to get paint on. Transportation will not be provided either way.

Participants are encouraged to bring family and friends because this is not strictly a school event.
