(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS varsity volleyball team played a rare Friday home game against Lawton Chiles High School last week.  Chiles is a tough, competitive team from Tallahassee. The Mustangs lost a hard-fought battle 3-0 (25-18, 25-23,26-24)

“We were excited to have a strong team from Tallahassee, having good competition to get us ready for districts,” head coach Perrilee Hankins said about the game.

Hankins also said Aja Jones, sophomore, did very well hitting and blocking the ball and freshman Anna Shelby Dees did very well passing the serve and got a lot of points.

Hankins said she would love to get another chance against Chiles and would expect to be more successful.

“We’re so new and young,” she said.  “We’re going to get better.”
