(LAKEWOOD RANCH,FL) – The LRHS varsity Mustang football team is working this week to recover from their first-game lost to Tampa Jesuit.
Right off the bat the Tigers scored on their first possession giving them a 7-0 lead over the Mustangs.
Lakewood Ranch matched the score as senior running back Justin Fischer scored a four-yard touchdown in the second quarter.
By halftime, however, the Tigers led the Mustangs 19-6.
After the second half kicked off Jesuit was back to their scoring ways as they put seven points on the board on their first possession of the third quarter.
The Mustangs did not score the rest of the game, resulting in a 39-6 Jesuit win over the Mustangs.
After the game Lakewood Ranch head coach Michael Koczersut told HT Preps, “We couldn’t do anything to capitalize. No big play happened. We didn’t make things happen for ourselves.”
The Mustangs look to rebound Friday, Sept. 4 at Bayshore High.
