(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – As intimidating as high school may already be, imagine how frightening it would be to be 4-foot-3 walking around the halls of LRHS.
For most of the mini mustangs in the school’s pre-K program, the first week was a big deal, saying goodbye to their parents and walking to their classroom with their fellow 4-year-old classmates amidst all the towering LRHS students.
with their fellow 4-year-old classmates and all of Lakewood’s high school students.
“It’s amazing. It’s only the third day and everyone’s so happy, they already know the daily routine.” Said LRHS Pre-K teacher Catherine Schutte. “They were so brave. I’m so proud of them.”
Lakewood Ranch’s mini mustang program was cut back this year, eliminating the 3-year-old’s program. This year there are 17 little ones in the class.
“It was a good first day, I liked meeting all of my friends,” said Lyndon, one of the Mini-Mustangs.
LRHS senior Morgan Maggi, who works in the program, said one of the kids even said it was “the best VPK ever.”
