LRHS French Club ready for 2015-16

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The French program is kicking off its year starting next week. All officers for the Société Honoraire de Français (French Honors Society – FHS) must meet LRHS French teacher Audrey Irias at 7:15 a.m., Aug. 28 in room 555. The first all-member meeting for the FHS and the Cercle Français (French Club) is at 7:15 a.m., Sept. 1.

Anyone interested in French culture and language are invited to join the Cercle Français. Members can look forward to a field trip later this year to Palmetto High School to see a French rock singer.

Madame Irias encourages anyone interested in the French language and culture to attend.

“The more the merrier,” she said.

The first meeting will include an ice breaker and many cultural activities. The French Club Officers will also work together to organize meetings in the future.

French Club members will meet the first Tuesday of every month. French Club Officers will meet every other Tuesday. These meetings will also have the same location and time.

Students will begin preparation for the annual Congrès de la Culture Francaise en Floride in Orlando, National French Week, and, new this year, a foreign film festival.

Tutoring for all French students by the FHS members will begin from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. on Sept. 3.
