(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Lakewood Ranch High School gets swamped this week with the auditions for “Shrek – The Musical.”  Drama students can’t wait to get this fall show on the road as they seek out talented Mustangs to star in this theatrical performance.

This story, based on the popular film, follows an angry ogre and his pal Donkey as they travel to the Kingdom of Duloc in an attempt to free his swamp from custody of the king. To recover his home, the mismatched duo must rescue Princess Fiona. Students at LRHS recreate the musical with colorful costumes, props, song and dance.

The performance is scheduled for Sept. 23.  Tickets are $3.

Drama teacher Roxanne Caravan said, “Shrek is an awesome show, so come out and let your freak flag fly.”

Students seeking a role can audition Tuesday, August 25th in the drama room, number 209.
