(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS is kicking off the 2015 school year with a blood drive.
The drive is scheduled for Sept. 8 on campus and is open to all students 16 years or older. Students can sign up during lunch periods starting the beginning of September.
If a student is interested in volunteering for the blood drive, LRHS blood drive coordinator Maria Whalen is taking applications until the end of the school day on Friday, Aug. 28. Applications are located outside room 412.
Whalen says donating blood benefits themselves and the community.
“When students donate, they get community service hours and the opportunity to save a life. It’s a win-win,” Whalen said.
