Mustangs circle up for the latest online fad

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Just like every month, June has brought its fads and bandwagons to LRHS. This month, it’s  the mobile phone game “Agar.io.”

Agar.io is an extremely simple game in which the player does nothing but move the mouse in order to control their character, a mushy ball. These mushy spheres can be named almost anything from “Kanye’s ego” to “Illuminati.” The fun doesn’t stop there, however. Each mushy ball can consume other smaller ones. Other actions including pressing “w” to “eject your mass.”

Simple games such as this one have become very popular among young people.

Freshman Ryan Brown enjoys participating daily in this single celled battle.

“Yeah, I’m practically addicted to it,” said Brown.

Freshman Federico Tello said, “This game consumes my life like I consume other balls in the game.”

Junior Michale Petruzzi said, “I’ve lost sleep. Precious amounts  of sleep.”

Some Mustangs have taken it to more of an extreme than others.

Consider sophomore Aaron Eicklemann.

“I wouldn’t call it an addiction per say,” said Eickleman.  “Yeah, maybe I skip meals to play. So what?”
