(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Graduation is a time of mixed emotions as many LRHS seniors are filled with uncertainties about their futures.

Mustang seniors are beginning to feel the pressure of picking their class schedules, finding the perfect roommates and deciding what to pack.

Kalei Vicars, a future University of Florida Gator, said, “There is a lot to think about when planning for college, but I think the hardest part will be figuring out what to bring with me and what to leave behind.”

Tatum Young said, “The scariest part for me is the amount of school work that I’ll have to do in college and the fact that I might not get along well with my roommate.”

Talia Falco, who will be attending Kent State University for track, said, “I think that the hardest part of college will be balancing sports and school.”

Graduation marks the end of a student’s childhood and the beginning of a new life. Students will be given more freedom along with more responsibilities. While some Mustangs are stressing about this new lifestyle, others are well prepared for a fresh start.

Read Corley said, “I am ready for college. I am ready to leave my nest, open my wings, and fly towards my future.”

Young said, “I’m looking forward to being able to make my own decisions and schedule.”

There are some seniors at LRHS that are still undecided about where they are going after graduation and are feeling the pressure of having to make that big decision.

Young said, “It’s crazy to think that in the next couple of weeks I have to decide what I’m doing with the next four years of my life.”

Other seniors, like Craig Thomas, believe that everything will just work out.

Thomas said, “I am not too stressed out about not knowing where I am going yet. I know that everything will work out.”

 Comfortably planning –

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Seniors have spent the last four years struggling to find who they are. Now it’s time for them to search further and dig deeper.  For many Mustangs that means uncertainty or picking a popular major such as business.  But at least a few graduating seniors have a clear plan in diverse fields such as music, athletics and drama.

Aspiring musician Nico Sanchez wants to go to college to study music. Sanchez is starting college close to home.

“I am going to SCF and I am auditioning for being a part of the music department there,” he said.  “Most schools are the same in terms of auditioning but I really like SCF. I’m not sure if I am am majoring in music but it gives me something to do while I am there. Music in general is just something I love.”

SCF offers a variety of music programs such as; keyboard, voice, music theory, ushering, and lots more. To Nico it all seems so exciting and he can’t wait to start college.

Tyler Gordon is a superior soccer player. All her handwork and effort earned her a four year scholarship to High Point University in North Carolina.

Gordon said, “I visited a lot of schools for soccer but high point was the best for me personally. I liked my teammates, how they ran the soccer department, just everything appealed to me.”

Like any new college student Gordon was nervous about her visit to the school and she feels like she is going to be right at home.

Bella Guzman has always loved contributing to the arts. She is a talented singer, dancer and actress. She has been accepted into Florida School of the Arts and is looking forward to being a part of the school and furthering her knowledge of music.

”As a musical theatre major I’m extremely proud to say that I was accepted into a school for the arts,” Guzman said. “I love the fact that this coming fall, I will be surrounded with talents of all kinds, it’s  exciting to know that soon I will be a part of that. I’m excited and ready to learn brand new things I’ve never done before along with furthering my education in my own major.”

All three seniors are super excited to get on with their lives and be independent young adults while doing things they love.
