(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS seniors are getting ready to graduate and that means some Mustangs are readying their speeches for a chance to be the graduation speaker. Graduation is scheduled for Thursday, May 28.

Graduation speech tryouts are April 20th. A prospective graduation speaker must write an essay on why he or she deserves to be a graduation speaker. The applicant must also to write a graduation speech and be able to perform it in front of a panel of judges.

LRHS Senior Class Adviser and math teacher Ann Fleury had some advice for the potential speakers. “Make sure you are presenting the speech the way that you would present it at graduation, because that’s what they are judging you on.”
