Seniors advise juniors on prom success

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – For most LRHS juniors attending 2015 prom, it is their first time. As exciting as this may sound, it can also result in someone being nervous or apprehensive. Some senior Mustangs have some helping advice to their fellow junior classmates.

When it comes on having a date to prom there are mixed feelings.

“Go with somebody you know well or else it can get awkward,” said Alex Gutowski.
Amy Bulfin said, “Going with a group of friends is way better than just having one person as your date.”

Juniors attending prom for the very first time might feel obligated to go above and beyond in their efforts, which can result in spending a lot of money.

“Don’t spend too much money on a dress or go to a really fancy restaurant. You should save that for your senior year.”

On such a big night, a wardrobe malfunction is the last thing you want to happen.

Samantha Blombergh said, “Don’t wear your heels on the dance floor. Your heel can break from dancing and people will just step on each other’s feet. Trust me, that’ll hurt.”

Lea Dahms said, “Have your hair up. It’s really hot and you’ll definitely get sweaty.”

Just like any other big event, there is stress that comes along with the planning and preparation.

Mariana Rosabal said, “Don’t worry too much about what’s going on or happening. The point is to have fun and make memories.”

However, there are some things that should be given specific attention to.

“Make sure you make reservations way in advance,” said Adam Lashley, “whether you’re going to dinner before or after prom, make sure it’s booked. This sets the whole night up.”

The last day to buy prom tickets at the current price is Friday, April 17. Anyone buying a ticket after this day will be charged an extra fee. Also, the 2015 prom dress code must be followed. Guest permission slips can be found in the administrative office, and have to be filled out and turned in if a non Mustang is planning on attending.
