(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- LRHS is hosting a fine arts “Spring Showcase” academy night that will feature an art gallery, singing, dancing, and orchestra and band performances. It is scheduled for 5:30 – 8 p.m. April 21.
The “Spring Showcase” will feature student art projects for sale and a name drawing for restaurant gift cards.
“The art gallery is for the students to come together to present their most creative works”, said LRHS Art teacher Abby Flannigan.
The goal of the Fine Arts Academy Night is to promote LRHS arts and music programs and get more students to join.
LRHS sophomore Allie Betlewicz says, “This event is a good way to raise money and get new members for the programs.”
LRHS orchestra member Emily Hickey, junior, said, “This event is a great opportunity for students and teachers to showcase all of LRHS’ excellent art programs in one night. We’re really looking forward to showing off our program to parents and possible new members.”
Junior Sophia Masterson of the Mustang Players Drama Troop looks forward to the evening.
“I’m excited that the orchestra, band, and theatre department are performing,” she said. “We all get to show off how hard we all have worked all year.”
Drama and musical performances begin at 6 p.m.
