LRHS honor society ready to announce new inductees

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS National Honor Society (NHS) chapter will announce its new members on April 10.

LRHS NHS adviser and physics teacher Hollis Morantes said invitees must RSVP before April 17. This will be followed by an April 22 induction ceremony.

The LRHS NHS generally meets the first Wednesday of each month. All meetings are mandatory and If a member cannot attend they must make arrangements to see Morantes at least one day in advance.

The NHS is a national organization designed to give recognition to students who demonstrate excellence in areas such as scholarship, leadership, service, and character. In addition to recognition, participants are encouraged to be more involved in their schools and communities.

An estimated one million students in all 50 states, along with Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, Canada and even U.S. territories are active NHS members and participate in activities through the society.
