(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The 2015 Marching Mustangs band show was revealed Tuesday, April 7 in the LRHS band room.

The Marching Mustangs will soon begin working on their 2015 show entitle, “Siren.” The show will tell the mythological story of sailors out at sea being lured to their demise by the beautiful sirens’ song. The show will consist of three parts, Out to Sea, Siren’s Call, and On the Rocks.

“They are beautiful, yet sinister,” said band director Ron Lambert. “We usually do happy shows and we’ve been wanting to do a dark show for a while now. I think this one is the perfect fit.”

Students and parents expressed their excitement about the show theme.

“I’m so excited to start working on the show,” said sophomore color guard member Alley Legg. “Not many people get to portray mermaids in marching band. I can’t wait to see what the costumes look like.”

Drumline member Ryan Hyatt, junior, said, “The drum part sounds like it’s going to be really fun.”

Anyone interested in joining the Marching Mustangs for their 2015 show should attend Marching Band Sign-Up night from 6-8 p.m. April. 9 in the LRHS band room. Eighth grade fun nights, when incoming freshmen looking to join the marching band can learn some marching band basics, will take place from 6-8 p.m. Thursday April 16 and Thursday April 30 in the LRHS band room. Color guard and drumline try outs will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. May 4-6 in the LRHS band room.
